It’s a harsh world out there. So here is an invitation to you, to take refuge with us; Beth Veitch Dance.

Whenever a new work is created, it is the greatest joy to make connections with others and so, our community grows. Artists, neighbours, audiences, organisations all make up part of our ever-expanding communities that feed every aspect of the work. Dance promotes connection and it is important that Beth Veitch Dance continues to nurture, promote and develop the way we reach and work with people to provide this.

Beth Veitch Dance was formed on a belief that dance is for all - and now the aim is to prove this! Where possible, the work we do is situated in community spaces and includes those who share the NE postcode; making work for and with Northern souls. The work created has the spirit, heart and soul of the North East running through it.

Previously, the work developed around communities has included open rehearsals, coffee and create sessions, community consultations, performances and screenings in rural locations and festivals and workshops with attendees from the ages of 9-75. The work has also tailored itself to be specifically relevant for LGBTQ+ groups, SEN groups and mature movers.

Myself and artists involved in delivering community work through Beth Veitch Dance all hold Safeguarding training, First Aid, PLI and Enhanced DBS checks. Additionally, I hold a Level 3 in Mental Health First Aid and a Level 1 in British Sign Language and I am part of the Parable Dance Mentoring Programme 2023, developing further knowledge on creating accessible, inclusive spaces.
